      Best advice I can offer is to test drive it thoroughly on familiar roads and traffic. It might be great for you. Repeating a trend here, I took a short test drive and bought off the showroom floor. Just 3800 miles and I can’t bring myself to like it. A good attempt by Audi but this vehicle is too unrefined for the brand premium. The transmission, or programming of it, sucks the life out of the car. I haven’t found any drive mode inspiring and oftentimes it just doesn’t know what it should do, preferring to get in 8th gear and stay there until it’s dogged out and it jumps to 5th. It’s nearly impossible to find consistency in throttle modulation and it isn’t linear or intuitive. The other reviewers are right about the auto start/stop killing the steering. I also find the ergonomics to be an afterthought. Armrests and reach to the steering wheel and window controls are awkward and tiring. I put the rear seats down a lot and it drives me berserk that you have to move the front seats forward to get the headrests to pass. It’s a well designed car aesthetically and the fit and finish is great. I have the 20” wheels and it holds and corners well. The fact that it’s such a slug to drive is a deal breaker. I will be going back to my previous brand as soon as I am willing to accept the cost.…

      Took ownership of my loaded 2020 Glacier White Q3 on Oct 17, 2019. It has been a Dream to drive. The technology alone is awesome. I research competitive models, reviewed online videos of competitors and came to the conclusion that this vehicle was the one. I have not looked back. The only 2 cons is that with all the tech stuff no seat memory and the interior cabin could use a little more insulation to reduce road noise. Other than that it is one of the best SUVs that I have purchased. Pick-up is perfect, no transmission lag in shifting and best of all you can use regular gas. I have the sport 20” tires - the car holds the road, sport seats (very comfortable) plus many of the offered packages. For Audi 5 Star rating.…

    • 2019 Q3 Sline Prestige quattro is Awful

      Im very disappointed for the price paid. The 2019 Audi Q3 Sline Prestige quattro has a noisy underpowered 2.0 turbocharged motor. In my opinion the Q3 should’ve been restricted to being a cheap priced Volkswagen crossover model. I truly feel it doesn’t have the build quality in any way to carry the Audi badge. I previously had a 2017 A4 Premium Plus Quattro that I drove for 17 months and over 40,000 miles. It had a 2.0t engine that didn’t make any loud noises on cold startups. That engine was refined and also not excessively noisy at all while driving unlike the Q3 . The A4 was pretty fast and performed extremely well. I had my A4 in for service at the dealer. They gave me a 2019 Q5 Premium Plus Quattro loaner with the same engine and transmission as my A4. I drove it for 2 weeks and put over 880 miles on it. It drove smoothly, was pretty quick, had no interior rattles, and made no loud engine idle noises on cold startup. I didn’t want to bring it back and hoped they kept my A4 as long as possible. I liked the loaner Q5 so much that I offered to buy it. The dealer wasn’t able to sell it just yet since It was leased to them and only had 1900 miles on it. I then was looking at buying a 2019 Q5 similarly equipped as the dealer loaner that I drove. The MSRP was over $55,000 for the Q5. That’s when I saw the 2019 Q3 S line Prestige quattro in the showroom. It was loaded up with more features than the Q5 that I wanted and the MSRP was just over $45,000. As I was outside getting my sunglasses out of my A4 that was parked on the opposite end of the dealership , they cold started my Q3 to move it out of the showroom for a test drive. By the time I walked to where they parked it, the engine was already running and wasn’t making any loud engine idle noises. Immediately after purchasing my 2019 Q3, I took it on a short weekend trip close to the house. I didn’t drive the vehicle for 2 straight days. I also didn’t hear the cold start engine idle noise until 3 days later when I left the hotel where I was staying in the morning. I thought my 2019 Q3 had a bad engine and almost immediately took it back to trade it in on a Q5. It only had 95 miles on the odometer at this point. Now, I have put nearly 4300 miles on it and truthfully, I am still considering taking a huge loss by trading it in for a 2019 or 2020 Q5. It’s not just because of the embarrassingly loud engine startup Idle noise either. I spend over 2 hours a day driving my Q3 to and from work 5 days a week for over 100 miles round trip. My Q3 is very uncomfortable to drive for long periods. The gas mileage and the performance is lacking compared to the Q5. I also noticed that it’s built very cheaply compared to the Q5 and that lack of quality shows everywhere throughout the entire vehicle. Here’s some of the many examples of the lack of build quality on my particular 2019 Q3: My sunroof rattles on bumps near the passenger visor and where the sunroof meets the fixed glass portion of the moon roof. My entire center console rattles on bumpy roads, behind the center of my dashboard rattles on bumps and my passenger door rattles on bumps. The start stop system malfunctioned at least 6 times already. About 4 times the engine shut completely off while stopped and didn't restart on its own. I then had difficulty restarting the vehicle for about 30 seconds. Twice the engine start stop system locked up my steering system. I could only drive straight for a few seconds after auto restarting while I was attempting to make a left hand turn from a stoplight . Twice already my lane assist malfunctioned and started tugging the steering wheel for no reason on the highway. I was driving in traffic while I was centered in my lane. After both incidents a tone then sounded and a malfunction message briefly displayed on my instrument cluster. My 2019 Q3 has a transmission that frequently shifts very hard in lower gears and once it felt like it wasn't shifting throughout any of the lower gears at all. I was stuck in what felt like a higher gear without any power just after leaving a stoplight. I was stopped on a highway exit ramp with a slight incline and after the auto start stop system restarted the transmission continued not shifting properly with a lack of power for several miles until I managed to get home and turn the vehicle off. I have the optional Bang and Olufsen sound system. If my bass or subwoofer control is set anywhere above the halfway mark to hear any bass, my rear speakers rattle and all of the many interior plastic parts rattle terribly in the rear of the vehicle with every bass note. My drivers side hood latch is also out of alignment, it doesn't shut fully and rattles. My rear window is factory tinted and I have about 16 very noticeable small bubbles inside the window tint in various places all across the entire window. I have recently noticed that something is now starting to leak from the engine and is dripping what appears to be engine oil on my garage floor...... believe it or not the list goes on and on. In my opinion the Audi Q5 is a much better value and is superior to the Q3 in every category (except for the touchscreen). The Audi Q5 is a quality made vehicle and is well worth paying the extra money for over the Q3.…
